Ever felt perfection looming over something that you are in presence of? Did your face just do the ‘long pause, no answer’ look? Exactly. I give you 5 reasons why Sabyasachi Mukherjee was the perfect designer to end this season’s Lakme Fashion Week
#1 Opening a show with Nina Simone’s ‘Feeling Good’ is always and always a great idea. Because it’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a life.
#2 When you walk upto a fashion runway, you expect it to have plain white ramps with the same old light settings. But not when it’s a Sabya show. The vintage décor and might I add, the very majestic chandeliers hanging low from the ceilings over the ramp, were actually the things that stole the spotlight in the entire show.
#3 Where do we even begin with the amazing jazz background score for this ‘Midnight in Paris’-esque show?
#4 The air of sophistication was definitely there in the garments. Felt like London streets in the 1920s but with more urbane Indians. Also, kudos on making the boys look so very royal!
#5 The Grand Finale is the reason one will fall in love all over again with Indian wear and, also fashion, for that matter.
